Som en del af Sigrids Stues kunstneriske praksis har vi også et fokus på involvering og samarbejde med børn og unge. Tilbage i 2016 og -17 etablerede vi Sigrids Stues Tegneskole – og byværksted for børn. Formen har varieret gennem årene fra flere ugentlige og kontinuerlige workshops efter skoletid til ferieaktiviteter og enkeltstående forløb, der knytter an til kunstprojekter udarbejdet af kunstnere tilknyttet Sigrids Stue. Dvs at børn i Gellerup har mulighed for at indgå i kunstneriske processer og træffe professionelle kunstnere i deres hverdag.
I Sigrids Stue arbejder vi for at også børn og unge bliver direkte medskabere af et mangfoldigt byliv, som det udspiller sig lige nu lige her. Fx ved området omkring Sigrids UdeStue og hele bydelen. Gennem fælles handling, påvirkning og medbestemmelse arbejder vi for at kunne påvirke, interagere og forstå nogle af de gennemgribende og voldsomme forandrings-processer, der sker i Gellerup disse år. Vi har fx unge fritidsjobbere tilknyttet Sigrids Stue. De indgår i vores daglige arbejde – er med i ideudvikling, projekter og assisterer i fx Tegneskolen.
Flere af vore fritidsjobbere er efter endt fritidsjob blevet tilknyttet som unge projektmedarbejder med egne initiativer og projekter, som vi støtter op omkring. Her kan vi nævne projektet Serier, Strik og Søde Sager, som har været et tilbud til unge fra + 13 år på initiativ og organisering af to af vore unge projektmedarbejdere.
Vi samarbejder desuden med områdets daginstitutioner, som vi inviterer ind i forskellige projektforløb. Det drejer sig om fx. det internationale researchprojekt Beyond Verbal og det helt aktuelle projekt Vores Sted. Vi arbejder med tid, sted og identiet.
I Tegneskolen – og byværkstedet tager vi udgangspunkt i hverdagen, som den aktuelt udfolder sig. Vi igangsætter tematiske tegneforløb med udvalgte temaer ud fra både vore egne, kunstnernes og børnenes ideer. Vi arbejder med en bred forståelse af, hvad tegning kan være og føre til. Fra iagtagelsestegning til projektbaseret-tegning, hvor vi inddrager andre medier end blyanten, arbejder med den geografiske lokalitet, hvor børnene indtager byrummet med kreative mål og midler.
Sammen har vi designet skamler, bænke, borde, vogne, plantekasser mm til både børnenes eget brug og fælles afbenyttelse.

As part of Sigrids Stue’s artistic practice, we also focus on involvement and collaboration with children and young people. Back in 2016 and -17 we established Sigrids Stues Drawing School – and urban workshop for children. The form has varied over the years from several weekly and continuous after-school workshops to holiday activities and one-off courses linked to art projects created by artists associated with Sigrids Stue.
This means that children in Gellerup have the opportunity to engage in artistic processes and meet professional artists in their everyday lives.
At Sigrids Stue, we work to ensure that children also become direct co-creators of a diverse urban life as it is unfolding right now. For example, in the area around Sigrids UdeStue and the entire district. Through joint action, influence and participation, we work to influence, interact and understand some of the radical and violent change processes that are happening in Gellerup these years.
We generally have young after-school workers associated with Sigrids Stue. They take part in our daily work – they are involved in idea development, projects and assist in, for example, the Drawing School. After completing their after-school jobs, several of our after-school workers have been assigned as young project workers with their own initiatives and projects that we support. Here we can mention the project Serier, Strik og Søde Sager, which is an offer for young people from the age of 13 on the initiative and organization of two of our young project workers. Link STRIK
We also collaborate with the area’s daycare centers, which we invite to participate in various projects. These include the international research project Beyond Verbal and the current project Our Place. LINK: Beyond Verbal
Sigrids Stue is also a perennial partner in interdisciplinary art and culture projects with the surrounding primary schools. Link Project Meeting Places
We work with time, place and identity.
In Tegneskolen – og byværkstedet we take everyday life as it currently unfolds as our starting point. We initiate thematic drawing courses with selected themes based on our own ideas, those of the artists and the children. We work with a broad understanding of what drawing can be and lead to. From observational drawing to project-based drawing, where we involve media other than the pencil, work with the geographical location where the children occupy the urban space with creative goals and means.
Together we have designed stools, benches, tables, trolleys and planters for both the children’s own use and shared use.
